Zovko did a little bit of everything on Saturday to lead Sacred Heart to a straight-set victory over Central Connecticut and the program’s first 5-0 start to NEC play since the abbreviated 2020-21 campaign. The setter orchestrated a Pioneers’ offense that combined to hit a season-best .241 against the Blue Devils by dropping 25 dimes, which ties a season-best performance for a three-set match. In addition, Zovko added five kills, three aces, a pair of blocks and 11 digs to record a double-double for the eighth time this season. A native of Bedford, MA, Zovko is no stranger to NEC Rookie of the Week distinction, as she has nabbed the award six times in seven weeks this season. She enters the week ranked second in the nation in service aces per set (0.67), while her league-best 36 total aces are good for 10th in the NCAA Division I rankings. In addition, Zovko is fourth in the NEC in assists (7.07 per set) and 10th in digs (2.67 per set).
