Zovko has established herself as one of the most dominant freshmen in the circuit and she has the accolades to prove it, as she has claimed five of the six NEC Rookie of the Week awards this season. The setter put together another impressive stat line, averaging 7.30 assists, 1.30 kills, 0.90 blocks and 0.80 aces per set in Sacred Heart’s 2-1 week that was highlighted by league wins over Stonehill and Merrimack. A native of Bedford, MA, Zovko dropped 73 dimes last week, including 35 at Merrimack to lead the Pioneers to a 3-1 on Saturday. She also added four service aces against the Warriors to push her league-leading total to 33. With the back-to-back conference wins, the Pioneers sit atop the NEC standings as the only undefeated team with a 4-0 record. Averaging 0.65 service aces per set on the year, Zovko is tied for fourth in the nation in the category, while her 33 total aces are good for ninth in NCAA Division I.
