Zovko is honored as the league’s top rookie for the third time in as many weeks after she put together another impressive weekend at the Yale Invitational. The Bedford, MA native averaged 6.45 assists and 3.73 digs per set for the Pioneers, who went 1-2 with a win over URI and defeats to in-state powers UConn and Yale. In addition, Zovko, who registered double-doubles in all three matches, delivered eight service aces during that stretch, including five in a four-set loss to the Huskies on Thursday. Zovko had one of her finest matches in a Sacred Heart uniform on Saturday, as she registered season-best numbers in both assists (29) and digs (16) to lead the Pios past the Rams in four sets. Ranked fourth in the NEC in digs (3.19 per set) and fifth in assists (6.38 per set), the first-year setter leads the conference and is 16th in the nation in service aces per set (0.65) this season.
