Marsden got it done both inside the batter’s box and inside the circle last week to lead Saint Francis U to a perfect 5-0 record during that stretch. Taking a doubleheader from Bucknell in non-conference play, the Red Flash went on to score a three-game sweep at Merrimack over the weekend. With the three conference wins, Saint Francis U, which captured the NEC regular season crown a week ago, locked up the top seed in the upcoming NEC Tournament. Marsden, who earned wins in each of her four appearances on the bump, sent five of her eight hits for extra bases (4 doubles, 1 home run) to close out the week with four runs and six RBI. She was stellar at the plate against Merrimack, going 6-for-10 in the series to lead Saint Francis U to three crucial NEC victories. Marsden’s bat came up clutch in extras for the Red Flash in the second game of a three-game series against Merrimack on Friday. With one out in the top of the 10th, the Erie, PA native laced a double to right field to bring home teammate Ashley Wruble for the eventual game-winning run. Garnering NEC Player of the Week distinction for the third time, Marsden was also named the NEC Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season following her stellar performances inside the circle this past week.
