In addition to her stellar performance at the plate, Marsden’s arm was a key factor in Saint Francis U posting a perfect 5-0 record last week. Including in those wins was a doubleheader sweep of Bucknell and a three-game sweep of conference foe Merrimack that secured the Red Flash the No. 1 seed in the upcoming NEC Tournament. Marsden racked up wins in each of her four appearances and closed out the week with a stout 1.67 ERA in three starts and 21.0 innings of work. Scattering 16 hits while allowing nine runs on her watch, including five earned, the Erie, PA native held opponents to a .208 batting average and finished with 23 strikeouts during that stretch. Marsden earned the victory in the nightcap of a doubleheader against Bucknell, a five-inning 13-4 decision. The pitcher/utility player went on to score wins in all three games against Merrimack. She has now earned five NEC weekly awards, having received Player of the Week distinction three times and Pitcher of the Week recognition two times.
