Lawton saw action in two of Central Connecticut’s three victories over Stonehill, and the rookie did not disappoint. A native of Merrimack, NH, she posted an .800 batting average after combining to go 4-for-5 at the plate. In her first appearance of the weekend, a 9-0, six-inning victory in the series opener, Lawton launched a two-run home run to double the Blue Devils’ lead to 4-0. The infielder went yard again in the second game of the series, this time driving in three runs to extend a one-run lead to four in the bottom of the third frame. Lawton closed out the weekend with a .800/.800/2.000 slash line. This is her first NEC Rookie of the Week honor this season.
