Petrovich led the Pioneers to a sweep of Saint Francis U by going 8-for-10 for an .800 batting average against one of the stingiest pitching staffs in the circuit. The graduate student posted multiple hits in each of the three wins, going 4-for-4 and 2-for-4 in Friday’s doubleheader before closing out the series with a 2-for-2 effort on Saturday. Finishing the weekend with five RBI and a pair of runs, Petrovich posted an .818 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage during that stretch. The outfielder’s bat produced a timely hit in the series opener, as her three-run triple in the bottom of the second got Sacred Heart on the board and fueled a rally that saw the Pioneers erase a 4-0 deficit and come out on top with an eventual 11-6 victory. A native of East Hanover, NJ, Petrovich is sixth in the NEC in batting average (.359) this season. During league play, she has been even more impressive with a .440 average. This is Petrovich’s first NEC Player of the Week honor this season.
