Vesco put together another solid weekend inside the circle to help pilot Saint Francis U to its second NEC sweep of the season. The veteran hurler held FDU to a .133 batting average over her two starts, both of which were victories. Scattering just six hits while allowing a pair of earned runs during that stretch, Vesco posted a 1.05 ERA in 13.1 innings of work. A native of Uniontown, OH, she tossed a gem in Saint Francis U’s series debut on Friday. Going the full seven innings, Vesco registered a four-hit shutout after she struck out 13 batters en route to the 6-0 victory. The following day, she earned her team-leading 11th win of the season and helped the Red Flash complete the series sweep after she struck out eight and allowed just two earned runs in a 9-8 walk-off victory. Vesco leads the circuit in strikeouts by a wide margin with 142, while her 11 wins are good for second-most in the conference. This is her fourth NEC Pitcher of the Week award.
