Valluzzi had a big offensive week to lead Central Connecticut to a 2-0 record. The junior attacker averaged 6.5 points during that stretch to lead the Blue Devils to an 18-4 win over Hartford on Tuesday and a 16-12 victory against FDU on Saturday. Valluzzi, who entered the week with nine points through her first eight appearances, more than doubled her season point total in those two games alone after she combined for seven goals and six assists. The Madison, CT native got her week going with a four-point effort against the Hawks after she registered two goals and two assists. Four days later, Valluzzi enjoyed a career day. Scoring five goals — the most by an NEC player in a game this week — she dished out four assists to finish with a career-high nine points. With 15 goals and 22 points this season, she ranks second on the team in both categories. This is Valluzzi’s first NEC Player of the Week award.
