Murphy stuck a first place finish in the triple jump at the Virginia Quadrangular. Hitting 11.81m on her first attempt, she bested the competition by 0.29m to take top billing at the event. A native of Cresson, PA, Murphy sits on top of the conference in the triple jump with a mark of 11.89m, which was set last week at the adidas Trojan Challenge. In addition, her long jump distance of 5.71m, which was also set at Saint Francis U’s season opener last month, is good for first in the circuit. This is Murphy’s first NEC Field Athlete of the Week honor of the outdoor season.
