Hernandez exploded offensively last week, registering 15 points in a pair of games to lead Saint Francis U to a perfect 2-0 record in NEC play. The junior tallied six points in her first game of the week, a 19-2 victory over Howard, after finding the back of the net four times and adding two assists. Three days later against Stonehill, Hernandez was even more impressive, as she racked up a season-high nine points on four goals and five helpers. Tallying three goals and a trio of assists to help the Red Flash build a 10-2 lead after the first quarter, the New Fairfield, CT native ended up having a hand in eight of her team’s first 12 scores in the eventual 19-18 victory. Hernandez entered the week with just three points, but after her monstrous week, she now has 18, which is good for sixth on the team. This is Hernandez’s second NEC Player of the Week award.
