Spieler got Merrimack off to a 1-0 start in NEC play on Saturday after she scored a career-best five times to lead the Warriors to an 18-4 victory. Adding three assists for a career-high eight points, the sophomore was on the mark in the 18-4 win, converting on 83.3 percent of her shot attempts while putting each of her six shots on goal. In addition to her stellar offensive outing, Spieler caused four turnovers and matched a game high in draw controls with eight. This is Spieler’s first NEC Player of the Week honor, and the first for a Merrimack player this season.
