Hughes exploded for a career-high 10 points on Saturday to propel Stonehill to its first NCAA Division I win in program history with a 22-7 defeat of FDU. The junior scored a career-best six goals and dished out a season-high four assists to lead Stonehill in its inaugural NEC contest. Hughes’ scoring outburst, which doubled her previous career high for scoring, marked her first multi-point game of the season. In addition, her 10 points marked the most scored by an NEC player in a game this season. The Franklin Square, NY native also makes program history by becoming the first-ever Skyhawk to earn a weekly award from the NEC.
