Garcia, a catcher, went yard twice and racked up six RBI to help lead LIU to a 5-1 record last week at the Spring Games. The redshirt senior went 7-for-19 during that stretch. A native of West Covina, CA, Garcia opened the week by going 3-for-3 with an RBI against Creighton, a 2-0 win on Tuesday. The following day, she combined to go 3-for-6 in a doubleheader split with Southern Indiana, driving in two and three runs, respectively, after homering in each game. Garcia enters the week ranked second on the team with 11 RBI. This is her first NEC Player of the Week honor this season, and the first for an LIU player in 2023.
