DeAngelo continued her explosive play on Thursday in FDU’s regular-season finale at Stonehill. The forward was productive from both inside the paint and from 18-20 feet out, making her nearly impossible to guard. Turning in a 10-of-20 clip from the field, DeAngelo’s play in the second half was a huge factor in FDU escaping Easton, MA with its program-record 22nd regular-season victory. Scoring 15 of her game-best 21 points in the third quarter, the junior capped off her performance with a huge fourth-quarter bucket with 3:53 remaining. That layup, which proved to the Knights’ final field goal of the game, made it a 62-58 lead in the eventual 63-61 decision. Over her past five games, DeAngelo has averaged 18.0 ppg, which is more than five points above her season average of 12.8 ppg. During that stretch, she claimed two of the final three NEC Player of the Week honors. She has been honored by the league three times this season.
