Marsden posted an .818 slugging percentage and a .571 on-base percentage to lead Saint Francis U’s bats at the Pirate Classic. The veteran pitcher/utility player launched a pair of extra-base hits in timely fashion to propel the Red Flash to a 5-2 win over Bucknell on Friday. Following an Olivia Ulam two-out solo shot in the top of the first with a double, Marsden scored on a two-run blast from teammate Ashley Wruble to put her squad up by a 3-0 count. Later in the game, the Keystone State native stretched the advantage to five with a leadoff homer in the third frame. Marsden is the second Red Flash player to garner NEC Player of the Week honors, as Wruble took home the award last week.
