DiStefano was stellar in Wagner’s lone game against Lafayette on Wednesday. The graduate student anchored a defense that held the Leopards to just four goals en route to a 9-4 victory. In addition, DiStefano turned away 12 of the 23 shots she faced for a .750 save percentage. With double-digit save totals in two of three appearances this season, the West Islip, NY native leads the circuit in saves per game (11.00) and is third in save percentage (.541). This is DiStefano’s first NEC Defensive Player of the Week honor this season. The 2022 NEC second team selection is the second Seahawk to garner the honor in as many weeks, joining defender Aileen Hannan.
