Vesco earned a big win in her lone start of the weekend, an 8-5 decision over Big 10 opponent Michigan State on Saturday. The senior hurler fanned a season-high 11 batters and held the Spartans off the scoreboard for the first 4.1 innings in the victory. With the bases loaded and three runners on in the bottom of the seventh, Vesco closed the door on a Michigan State comeback bid by inducing back-to-back fly outs and an infield ground out. On the week, the Uniontown, OH native went 1-0 with 19 strikeouts and a 4.42 ERA over 12.2 innings and three appearances. This is Vesco’s first NEC Pitcher of the Week honor of the season.
