Dana earns NEC Track Athlete of the Week honors for the first time this season after she turned in an impressive performance in the 800m at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational. The senior crossed the line in 2:10.47 and was the 59th overall finisher. That time, which is more than three seconds faster than the next closest competitor in the conference, is a near two-second improvement of her previous NEC-best performance of 2:12.21, which was set last month at the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic. With Dana’s honor, CCSU has claimed the NEC Track Athlete of the Week award seven out of a possible eight times, as teammate Angie Rafter earned the distinction on six occasions this season.
