McDermott was a key contributor to Wagner’s fifth-place finish at the Griffin Baker Classic, which welcomed 20 programs over a two-day period. The first-year Seahawk averaged 18.39 pins per frame in the baker format event. McDermott tossed strikes in 29-of-76 frames for a 38.2 strike percentage and converted on 76.2 percent of her makable spares for a .818 filled frame rate. Most impressively, McDermott averaged 8.88 pins per first-ball attempt during that stretch. After going 3-2 on Saturday’s opening day, Wagner bounced back with three straight wins on Sunday to conclude the weekend with a 6-2 record. This is McDermott's third NEC Rookie of the Week honor.
