Another speedy time in the mile run results in Rafter taking home another NEC weekly award. The graduate student tore up the track in the mile, outrunning the next closest competitor by more than 18 seconds to seal the win at the NEICAA Indoor Championships. Her time of 4:42.25, which is 1.53 faster than her previous conference-best mark (4:43.78), is the 68th-fastest in the nation this season. In addition to the mile, Rafter has also turned in the fastest times in the NEC in the 3,000m and the 5,000m and is ranked 19th and 24th in the nation in the distances, respectively. With this week’s honor, Rafter is now a six-time NEC Track Athlete of the Week award recipient.
