Hyde is named the NEC Field Athlete of the Week for the second time in as many weeks. The veteran thrower once again improved upon his NEC-best mark in the shot put. Opening the season with hurls of 16.52m (Nittany Lion Challenge), 16.66m (Gulden Invitational) and 16.83m (Penn State National Open), Hyde unleashed a personal-best throw of 17.42 at the Winter Relays to land on top of the podium for the second time this season. That throw, which is good for 86th in the nation, is 1.15m further than the next closest competitor in the circuit.
