Martinez landed a sixth-place finish in the pole vault at the Scarlet Knight Open this past weekend. The Spaniard vaulted his way to the top of the NEC performance list in the process, clearing a personal-best height of 4.65m. That jump is a 0.05m improvement from his previous conference-best mark of 4.60m, set at the Riverhawk Invitational last month. Martinez makes it six NEC Rookie of the Week honors for the Wagner men with his third honor of the season. Alex Taddeo is a two-time honoree (Jan. 17, Jan. 31), while Arjanvir Singh rounds out the winners with his nod on Dec. 6.
