Rafter, who posted another dominant performance in the mile at the Ramapo College Opener, takes home NEC Track Athlete of the Week honors for the fourth time this season. The graduate student took first place for the third straight meet after she broke CCSU’s program record for the second time in as many weeks with the 26th-fastest time in the nation (4:43.78). A native of Danielson, CT, Rafter shaved nearly five seconds off of her previous personal-best mark as she entered the week leading the NEC in the event with a time of 4:48.72, set on Jan. 15 at the UMass Flagship Indoor Invitational. Her four NEC weekly awards are the most in both men’s and women’s track and field this season.
