O’Garro had an impressive showing in the triple jump at the NYC Gotham Cup. Unleashing a jump of 15.47m, the senior out-jumped the competition by 0.67m. That mark, which meets the IC4A qualifying standards, is the third-best in the NEC this season and the 24th-best in the nation to date. A native of Saint John’s, Antigua, O’Garro owns two of the top three triple jump performances in the circuit this season. His personal-best distance of 15.90m, which was set earlier this month at the Penn Select 10, is second in the circuit behind teammate Salif Mane (16.67m). This is O’Garro’s first NEC Field Athlete of the Week honor this season.
