Nwabudu strung together a pair of standout performances to help Wagner go 2-0 this past week and stand alone as the only remaining unbeaten team in the NEC with a 6-0 record. The veteran forward averaged 15.0 points per game after shooting a sizzling 63.6 percent from the field during that stretch. In addition, Nwabudu was strong on the boards, averaging 8.0 per game in the two victories. The Elmont, NY native had a hot hand in the Seahawks’ win against Stonehill on Thursday, going 6-of-8 from the field on her way to a double-double performance of 14 points and 12 rebounds. Seven of her points came in a pivotal fourth quarter that saw Wagner put a stamp on the contest after outscoring the Skyhawks by a 29-15 margin. Nwabudu was also key in Wagner’s win at CCSU on Sunday, going 8-of-14 from the floor for a game-high 16 points. Going off target just once in the second quarter, she accounted for 10 of her team’s 14 points during that stretch to help her team take a 35-28 advantage into the break. This is Nwabudu’s first NEC Player of the Week honor this season.
