Pryor added two more stellar all-around performances to her resume to take home NEC Rookie of the Week honors for the third straight week. Averaging 19.5 points in a 1-1 week for Sacred Heart, the Baltimore product was a workhorse for the Pioneers, adding 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.5 steals in 35.8 minutes per game. Pryor poured in a game-high 21 points on Thursday for her league-best eighth 20-point performance of the season, but it wasn’t enough for the Pioneers as they lost for the first time in NEC play this season against Merrimack. The guard helped her team bounce back in dramatic fashion on Saturday, though, as Sacred Heart handed FDU its first defeat of conference play. Scoring 18 points while adding six rebounds, six steals and five assists, the rookie delivered a key old-fashioned three-point play inside the final minute to make it a two-possession game and seal the deal in the upset win. Pryor’s dominance has helped Sacred Heart jump out to a 5-1 start to NEC play, which puts the Pioneers in second place in the league standings. The rookie leads the circuit with 17.6 points per game and is second among league scorers in NEC play at 19.0 points per game. With her latest honor, Pryor pushes her NEC Rookie of the Week total to eight, which is five shy of Saint Francis U’s Jess Kovatch, who holds the league’s record with 13 awards in 2015-16.
