Wilson played a big part in leading FDU to a pair of wins against Delaware State and LIU last week. Scoring in double figures in each of those contests to extend her rally to 12, the Freeport, NY product averaged 17.5 points on 58.3 percent shooting from the field (14-of-24) and a 70.0 percent effort from the free-throw line (7-of-10). In addition, Wilson was a beast on the boards as she combined for 19 rebounds over that two-game stretch. The junior put up team-best numbers of 14 points and seven rebounds on Thursday to help the Knights close out their non-league slate and the 2022 calendar year with a commanding 68-38 win at Delaware State. Four days later, Wilson led FDU to another convincing victory by way of an 88-51 final at LIU in both teams’ NEC opener. She was virtually unstoppable against the Sharks, scoring all of her game-high 21 points in the first half after combining to shoot 8-for-9 from the field. In addition, Wilson, who is third in the league in scoring (15.5 ppg) and rebounding (6.8), added 12 boards for her second double-double in 2022-23. With this week’s NEC Player of the Week honor, Wilson pushes her league-best total to three this season.
