Amos claimed NEC Player of the Week accolades for the second time in three weeks after an otherworldly performance in CCSU’s 74-52 win over St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday. The junior swingman rang in the new year with a career-high 36 points on 13-16 shooting that included a perfect 6-6 mark from three-point territory. It marked his second 6-6 showing from deep this year, which made him the first DI player in nearly a decade to go perfect from three-point range with at least six makes twice in one season. Two days earlier, Amos recorded a game-high 20 points on 9-15 shooting in a setback at Saint Francis U. For the week, the Houston, TX native averaged 28.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals, and shot 71.0 percent overall and a scorching 88.9 percent from deep. Amos raised his scoring average to 15.4 ppg, which ranks sixth in the NEC.
