O’Brien was named the NEC Rookie of the Week for the second time in as many weeks — and the sixth time this season — after putting up double figures in a pair of wins for LIU. The guard averaged 11.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 32.5 minutes for the Sharks. Netting 13 points to help lead the Sharks past St. Francis U in overtime on Thursday, O’Brien added 10 points in Saturday’s win against Mount St. Mary’s. Her six Rookie of the Week awards are the most for a NEC women's basketball player this season.
