O’Brien put together a solid performance in LIU’s defeat at St. Francis Brooklyn in the 29th annual Battle of Brooklyn on Friday evening. She converted on 54.5 percent of her shots from the field (6-of-11), including 50.0 percent of her attempts from behind the arc (3-of-6), while turning in a perfect 4-of-4 effort from the free-throw line. In return to the starting lineup for the Sharks, O’Brien added two assists and one steal in 35 minutes. With the honor, O’Brien now leads the NEC in Rookie of the Week awards with five.
