Week 10 Stats: 23 total tackles (14 solo), 2.0 TFL
Samson had an historic day in Merrimack's 35-26 win on Staten Island. The junior linebacker made a NEC single-game season-high 23 stops (14 solo). The tackles total ranks second on the Warriors' all-time single-game list. Samson, who is one of four Division I FCS players to log at least 23 tackles in a game this season, made 2.0 tackles-for-loss and added three more hits that limited the ball carrier to no gain. In all, nine of Samson’s stops held the offense to a two-yard gain or less. He halted a Wagner drive late in the first half, making tackles on back-to-back plays to force the punt team onto the field. Late in the third quarter, Samson stymied a Wagner drive inside Merrimack’s 10-yard line with the Warriors protecting a 28-20 lead. He made a solo hit for a two-yard loss on a third-down play from the Merrimack 5.
