Wester’s first career multi-goal game powered Merrimack to its first NEC win of the season. She staked the Warriors out to a 2-0 lead in an eventual 3-2 triumph over Saint Francis. The Dutch-born midfielder opened the game’s scoring in the 22nd minute, blasting a hard shot past the keeper on a penalty corner play. She doubled the Warriors’ lead in the 49th minute off a deflection. The 5-foot-6 freshman also started in Friday’s NEC opener at Sacred Heart – a 4-3 setback.
