NEC Player of the Month
Erechtchenko, a first team All-NEC honoree a year ago, opened her fall campaign compiling a 5-2 singles mark and 4-1 doubles record over three competitions. She secured wins over opponents from Cornell and NJIT in winning the back draw at the season-opening Columbia Invitational, and picked up a pair of victories vs. URI and UConn foes as the Sharks went 3-0 in hidden duals as part of the UConn Invitational. Erechtchenko also won her first match against FDU's Gauri Bhagia to open ITA Regionals this past weekend, then suffered a 0-6, 7-6 (5), 8-10 setback to two-time All-Ivy League perfromer Stephanie Schrage of Princeton. The junior also teamed with Elinor Storkass to post a 4-1 doubles mark. The duo went 3-0 at UConn and were the only team to hang with Princeton's Maia Sung and Leena Bennetto at ITAs, falling 8-5 in the second round to the eventual ITA Super Regional qualifiers.
