South protected the cage to the tune of a 1.00 goals-against average during each of the Red Flash’s two non-conference wins last week. Earning victories over Drexel and Ohio, the junior goalkeeper averaged 8.5 saves per outing while accounting for an .895 save percentage. South surrendered an early goal at Drexel, but blanked the opposition for the final 57:17 for a 2-1 victory in Philadelphia. She made eight saves in the win over the CAA member, including at least one during each quarter. Two days later, South earned a 2-1 home win over MAC member Ohio despite losing a shutout in the game’s first minute. After Ohio scored on its first shot, South proceeded to record nine saves while blanking the Bobcats the rest of the way.
