Grant was general-like while spearheading Sacred Heart's offensive effort in a 21-7 home run over MEAC member Morgan State. Starting in place of injured All-American Julius Chestnut, the running back totaled 173 yards from scrimmage and scored his second touchdown of the season. The Empire State product averaged 5.3 yards per carry en-route to breaking the 100-yard rushing barrier for the first time as a collegian. Grant also gained 40 receiving yards on three catches. He totaled nine first downs (7 rush, 2 receiving) in the game, including a key 4th-and-1 conversion on the Pioneers’ touchdown drive that closed the first half. Grant’s three-yard touchdown run capped a 12-play, 89-yard possession that boosted Sacred Heart’s lead to 21-7 with 4:06 remaining in the third quarter. He accounted for 46 yards on the drive.
