The two-time NEC individual champion and last year's NEC runner up got off to a flying start in the first race of her senior campaign. Rafter finished first overall at the Marist Invitational 5K with 62 runners coming in behind her. She crossed the finish line with a time of 18:17.7, nine seconds ahead of the runner-up.
