Wainer pitched to an 0.00 ERA out of the bullpen, totaling 6.0 innings over the course of two Bryant victories. The rookie righty limited opponents to one unearned run, five hits and one walk over two appearances. He registered eight strikeouts. Wainer was summoned to work out of a bases-loaded jam in the seventh inning of the series finale against Fairleigh Dickinson. Taking the ball with the bags juiced and no one out, the first-year Bulldog limited the damage to one run and allowed Bryant to maintain the lead. After a wild pitch scored a run, Wainer sandwiched two strikeouts around an intentional walk and induced a subsequent foul out to end the threat. Earlier in the week, Wainer earned a victory over A-10 member Rhode Island. He inherited a fourth-inning jam and proceeded to log 4.0 shutout innings to become the pitcher of record in the 10-7 triumph. He held Rhody to two hits and fanned five batters.
