Sorenson made Merrimack history by hurling a complete-game, nine-inning no-hitter. The veteran right-hander closed out the 2-1 victory over Sacred Heart by retiring 16 batters in a row, registering the first no-hitter in the Warriors’ Division I program history. It was the first no-no in an NEC game since Central Connecticut’s Mike Appel achieved the feat against Mount St. Mary’s on March 18, 2017. Sorenson issued free passes in each of the first two frames, but induced inning-ending double plays to end any threat. After SHU connected on an one-out sacrifice fly in the fourth inning, Sorenson was perfect the rest of the way. He logged six 1-2-3 innings during the 98-pitch outing.
