DeMedal and the Dukes kept Bryant out of the end zone for the final three quarters of Sunday’s 20-10 triumph on the road in Smithfield. Helping Duquesne secure home-field advantage for the NEC Spring Championship Game, DeMedal totaled eight tackles, two pass break-ups and one interception. A team-high 2.5 hits resulted in a loss of yardage for the offense. The Keystone State product derailed three consecutive Bryant possessions in the fourth quarter. DeMedal made solo stops on back-to-back plays to force a three-and-out on Bryant’s first possession of the final period. After the Dukes took a 20-10 lead, DeMedal logged a second-down tackle and a fourth-down pass break-up to snuff out the Bryant offense’s response. The veteran safety ended a subsequent Bulldogs’ drive by intercepting a second-down pass.
