Week 3 Stats: 1 start, 0.00 ERA, 6.0 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 4 BB, 6 K
Sorenson was the stopper for Merrimack on Sunday against Massachusetts. Continuing to pitch to an 0.00 ERA, the righty starter logged 6.0 two-hit innings in a 3-1 triumph that prevented a series sweep. After 7.0 shutout frames against Maine in his season debut, Sorenson limited UMass to two singles and one unearned run. He worked around four walks and recorded three strikeouts. After Massachusetts pushed across its lone run with two outs in the third inning, the repeat NEC Pitcher of the Week retired the next five batters to face him and did not allow a hit the rest of the way.
