Chestnut accounted for 209 scrimmage yards and all four of his team’s touchdowns during Sacred Heart’s season-opening trip to Duquesne. The 2019 FCS All-American kicked off the spring season by averaging 8.71 yards per touch. Chestnut carried the ball 22 times for 168 net yards and gained 41 yards on two pass receptions. After putting the Pioneers on the scoreboard with a three-yard burst early in the second quarter, Chestnut ripped off a 58-yard touchdown run 2:45 before the halftime break. His second touchdown of the quarter brought the Pioneers to within 17-12. With SHU facing a 27-12 deficit early in the fourth quarter, Chestnut made it a one-score game again by finding the pylon on a 9-yard reception that capped a 10-play possession. The third-year Pioneer registered three first downs on the 66-yard drive before punching it in with 11:15 left. Chestnut added a 32-yard touchdown catch in the game’s waning seconds and he crossed the goal line again on the ensuing two-point conversion attempt.
