NEC Player of the Month
Kuzina caught fire last month, winning eight straight after suffering a setback in her first spring match against Columbia. After playing her first five spring matches at the #2 flight, she was elevated to the #1 position and went 4-0 there. Kuzina collected victories over Providence, Eastern Michigan, Temple and All-A10 player Erin Chratian of URI among others, and downed Bryant’s Sarah Hickey, 6-3, 6-3, in a conference encounter. She also went 8-1 at #1 doubles with partner Valentina Dancenco. Kuzina has now posted a 13-4 singles record in her first year at LIU.
