Mozzicato made his first collegiate start a memorable one, winning a rubber game on the road. Taking the ball for Sunday’s series finale, the rookie southpaw spun 7.0 shutout innings to earn a 4-0 victory over MEAC member Bethune Cookman. Mozzicato allowed only two hits (both singles) and issued no bases on balls. Pitching to an 0.29 WHIP, the 6-foot-2 freshman fanned two batters and induced 11 groundball outs. Mozzicato, who did not allow a runner past first base, retired the side in order during the second, third and sixth frames.
