WEEK 11 Stats: 4 total tackles, 2 INT Return TD, Forced Fumble, PBU
Gray was at the center of a defensive effort that recorded seven takeaways in a first-place battle with Steel City rival Duquesne. The senior safety became the first FCS athlete to return two interceptions for touchdowns in the same game this season. Mason accounted for four tackles, one pass break-up and one forced fumble to go along with his pair of Pick-6 plays in the Colonials 41-21 triumph. Helping Robert Morris keep pace in the standings with fellow NEC unbeaten CCSU, Gray grew the all-time list of FCS players with two interception return touchdowns to 28 members. After Duquesne marched for a touchdown on its first drive of the second half, Gray halted the Dukes’ second possession by picking off a second-down pass and racing 36 yards the other way for a score that extend RMU’s lead to 27-7. The 5-foot-11 safety iced the victory with an 81-yard interception return with 3:36 left to play. Gray forced a first-quarter fumble that was recovered by the Colonials following a 3-yard pass completion.
