Carter carried Merrimack to its second straight victory over a FCS program. The dual-threat quarterback eclipsed his season-high passing total while accounting for all three of the Warriors’ touchdowns in the 24-21 triumph over Big South member Presbyterian. Carter finished the win with 344 yards of total offense, including a season-best 287 yards through the air. The sophomore, who completed 64.7 percent of his pass attempts, netted 57 yards and the game-winning touchdown on the ground. The 344 yards of total offense represent the seventh-highest total by a NEC athlete this season. Carter threw two first-half touchdown passes (10, 22), staking the Warriors to a 14-7 advantage in the second quarter. With Merrimack facing a 21-17 fourth-quarter deficit, Carter engineered a 70-yard go-ahead touchdown drive. He went 3-for-3 passing for 50 yards and gained the other 20 yards on the ground. His nine-yard TD run capped the eight-play possession with 3:08 remaining in the game.
