Olton’s offensive explosion powered LIU to a 3-2 victory in its lone game last week. Helping the Sharks break into the win column, the freshman forward recorded a hat trick to erase a 2-0 deficit against CAA member Towson. Olton, who accounted for one goal over the season’s first four games, scored all three goals during the third quarter. The 5-foot-3 freshman put the Sharks on the scoreboard 33 second into the second half by tapping home a cross from Felicia King. Olton tied the score fewer than 7:00 later, converting an opportunity in transition following a takeaway. She rattled the cage again in the 43rd minute, giving LIU a 3-2 advantage that it would not relinquish.
