WEEK 3 STATS: 12.72 yards per pass attempts, 6 TD passes, 407 pass yards, 68.8 completion pct.
Marchi followed up the NEC’s first 300-yard passing performance of the season by becoming the first quarterback to eclipse the 400-yard mark during the first three weeks. Averaging 12.72 yards per pass attempt, the 6-foot signal caller threw for six touchdowns and played his second straight turnover-free game. Orchestrating a 56-point explosion at Patriot League member Lafayette, Marchi finished 22-of-32 passing for 407 yards. In addition to a 7-yard scoring strike that put SHU on the board in the first quarter, Marchi launched two bombs (75, 65) that Kezio Snelling took in for touchdowns. Marchi’s final TD pass, a 37-yard hook-up with Yasir Berry, gave the Pioneers a 56-27 advantage in the fourth quarter. The six touchdown passes tied a SHU single-game record set by Dale Fink in 2009.
