Turner turned in a huge personal record to win the Stony Brook Wolfie Invitational and significantly improve his standing on the NCAA Division I East Region leader board. The SHU thrower put the shot 17.88m (58’ 8”) to easily top a 17-entrant field at Stony Brook. By adding more than five feet onto his previous outdoor best, Turner took over first place in the Sacred Heart record book. The Nutmeg State product’s latest performance eclipsed the 17.58m mark that former NEC champion Evan Lasher recorded in 2006. In addition to climbing into the No. 26 spot amongst DI East Region leaders, Turner sits in eighth place on the list of automatic qualifiers for the IC4A Championships.
