In SFU's second tournament back since returning from the holiday break, Balas claimed Tournament MVP honors as the Red Flash compiled an 11-2 record to win the Red Flash Invitational. Balas compiled the highest pins per frame (20.56) among NEC competitors, while also ranking second with 18.56 pins per baker frame. She filled frames at a 85.5 percent rate and threw 59 strikes at a 42.8 percent clip. The senior also paced all NEC bowlers by converting 84.3 percent of her makeable spare attempts. Balas spearheaded an SFU group that avenged a loss of the final day to Mount Alyosius with a 4-3 win over the Mounties to win the tournament.
